Peppers of the "Orange" variety are grown in mid and northwestern latitudes in open areas, in greenhouses, greenhouses. In this case, as a rule, the seedling growing method is used.

The bushes of the "Orange" plant are compact, up to 40 cm high, which allows them to be planted quite densely - 5 bushes per 1 m2 soil. The period of fruit ripening from the day of sowing the seeds is 95-110 days.

Another feature of the "Orange" variety is its high yield. During the period of active fruiting, the bushes are abundantly covered with small peppers in the amount of 25-35 pieces. The total yield of the variety is high and reaches 7 kg / m2... It should be borne in mind that when grown in protected conditions, this indicator can be significantly increased.

The main stages and rules for growing pepper

To get a rich harvest of delicious vegetables, it is not enough just to purchase seeds. They must be sown in compliance with certain rules, on time, and subsequently carry out competent care of the plants. Moreover, each variety of peppers has its own cultivation characteristics. So, the cultivation of peppers of the "Orange" variety consists of the following stages:

Sowing seeds for seedlings

Sowing seeds for seedlings must be carried out in the first decade of February (for the subsequent planting of plants in a greenhouse, greenhouse) or in mid-March (for planting in open ground). For growing seedlings, you can use ready-made soil mixtures or prepare the soil yourself by mixing garden soil with peat, humus, sand.Small plastic cups or peat pots can be used as cultivation containers.

Important! According to experienced farmers, the seed germination rate of the "Orange" variety is approximately 90%.

Before sowing in the ground, the seeds of the "Orange" pepper must be germinated. To do this, they should be placed in conditions with high humidity and a temperature of +270C. In such a microclimate, seeds will hatch in 5-10 days. Germinated seeds are placed in the prepared soil to a depth of 0.5-1 mm.

The optimal duration of the light period for the favorable growth of seedlings is 12 hours, which means that natural daylight in winter is not enough for young plants. It is possible to create favorable conditions for seedlings by placing reflective materials around the perimeter of containers with crops and installing fluorescent lamps.

You need to feed the seedlings once every 2 weeks. As a fertilizer, you should use complex compounds, for example, "Kornevin", "Florist Rost", "Nitrofoska" and others. The optimum temperature for growing seedlings of peppers of the "Orange" variety is + 22- + 230FROM.

Planting young plants

It is necessary to plant seedlings of the "Orange" variety at the age of 45-50 days. Two weeks before this, the plants must be hardened, periodically taken out into the street. The duration of the stay of plants in unprotected conditions should be gradually increased from half an hour to full daylight hours. This will smoothly prepare the plants for outdoor temperature conditions and direct sunlight.

Important! In regions with harsh climatic conditions, it is necessary to plant seedlings only in a greenhouse no earlier than June.

The soil for cultivating peppers should be loose, nutritious. It must include peat, compost, sawdust treated with urea, sand. If desired, a hydrogel can be added to the soil, which will retain moisture in the soil. This filler is added at the rate of 1 g per 1 liter of soil.

It is necessary to plant seedlings in pre-prepared, abundantly moistened wells. You should take special care when removing the plant from the container, keeping an earthen ball and not injuring the root system. Peat pots are buried in the ground together with the plant for subsequent decomposition. After uniform compaction of the soil, young plants are watered and tied to a trellis.

Daily care of the culture

It is necessary to take care of the formation of the bush immediately after the plant has taken root. The top of the main stem is removed (pinched), which provokes an intensive growth of lateral fruiting shoots. There should be no more than 5. Smaller shoots should be removed (pinned).

Mandatory procedures for growing peppers are watering, weeding, loosening, feeding:

  • Water the peppers abundantly (more than 10 liters of water per 1m2 soil) 2-3 times a week;
  • Loosening and weeding are usually carried out simultaneously. The event allows you to improve the nutrition and respiration of the plant root system;
  • For feeding peppers, you can use an infusion of cow or chicken manure, herbal infusion, or special complex fertilizers containing nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus.
Important! The root system of peppers is located at a depth of 5 cm from the surface of the earth, so loosening must be done with extreme care.

In addition to these standard activities, it is recommended to provide:

  • Mulching will inhibit the growth of weeds and prevent the soil from drying out;
  • Additional (artificial) pollination is carried out during the flowering period of peppers by lightly shaking the branches of the bush. This will allow the plant to form even, beautiful peppers abundantly.

"Orange" is one of the best varieties of pepper, ideally suited for cultivation in domestic climatic conditions. It is grown by professional farmers and novice gardeners.The vegetable deserves special attention due to its excellent sweet taste and bright aroma. High yield is also an indisputable advantage of the "Orange" variety.

Once at a friend's house I tasted a pepper of the "Orange" variety and was very surprised by the unusual taste. At first I thought that I was treated to a fruit, but then I found out that this is such a unique variety of vegetables. The next year, after tasting, I decided to also try to grow the Bulgarian orange pepper. Despite the fact that I had never grown this crop before, I managed to grow a delicious, bountiful harvest without any problems. I treated friends and neighbors with peppers. They were all pleasantly surprised. Experimental farmers and lovers of unusual taste, I advise you to try a vegetable of the "Orange" variety.

I have three grandchildren and I grow orange peppers just for them. The boys eat an amazingly tasty vegetable, thinking that it is a fruit. We also prepare various vegetable salads and culinary delights from peppers of this variety. For the winter period, we harvest candied fruits, which have an excellent taste, while retaining all the benefits of a fresh product.
Anton Samsonov, 52 years old, Volgograd
For many years now I have been growing peppers in the country. During my practice as a gardener, I tried to plant many varieties of this culture, but recently on my site you can see only three varieties, one of which is "Orange". The peppers of this variety have won my respect for their amazing sweet taste and amazing aroma. The skin of the vegetable is very thin and tender, the pulp, though not thick, but juicy. Peppers are a real treat for adults and children. The whole family eats them fresh, as well as in salads, culinary dishes. For winter storage, they used to cut peppers and freeze them, then we learned that Orange can be dried, thereby obtaining candied fruits. This method of harvesting allows you to preserve the vitamins of the vegetable and does not take up space in the freezer. I advise those growers who have never grown orange peppers to try, since the culture does not require adherence to complex growing rules, but at the same time it has a high yield.
