Tuleevsky potatoes are one of the hybrids of the potato research institute of the Kemerovo region, the governor of which is Aman Tuleev. A new cultivar was named in his honor, with this the scientists and agronomists of Kemerovo wanted to thank their governor for his services in significantly improving agriculture throughout the region. For ten years, breeders have been working on obtaining a potato variety worthy of bearing such a name, and in 2007 it was included in the State Register of Vegetable Crops of the Russian Federation. Description

In the certificate attached to the application for registration in the State Register, the manufacturer of the new potato variety Tuleyevsky, declares the following varietal standards:

Tuleyevsky potatoes are a medium-ripening variety, the duration from planting in the ground to full maturation of tubers is from 80 to 100 days.
Tuleevsky table potato variety, used for cooking culinary dishes, especially good for side dishes in the form of mashed potatoes.
The morphology of the Tuleyevsky potato variety: the height of the bushes is from 50 to 70 cm, they are mostly erect, but they can be slightly lodged, the leaves are dark green with wavy edges, medium-sized, the corolla of the flowers is white and rather large.

the soil - the composition of the soil for planting Tuleevsky potatoes should be loose, well aerated, fertile;
fertilizers - a complex of fertilizers: organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus and potash fertilizers are applied in early spring 2 months before planting;
watering - the Tuleyevsky potato variety can grow excellently for a very long time without abundant watering, there is enough rain for it, but with prolonged drought, it is necessary to water it 1-2 times a month, alternating with loosening the soil;
hilling - potato tubers are planted in a square-nesting method (50x50 cm), this method is convenient for further hilling planting rows, which is carried out at least 2 times during the growing season: once after 5-6 leaves have grown, the second after flowering;
protection against diseases and pests - before planting, the seed (tubers) should be treated with special compounds intended for these purposes; to improve the growth of tubers, there are also means of stimulation;
pest control - the main potato enemy is the Colorado potato beetle. It is almost impossible to exterminate it completely, therefore, the potato tops are sprayed with pesticides several times per season: the first time before flowering begins, then after its end, and the last time 2-3 weeks before the tops lodged, this time you can cancel the spraying and collect the pests by hand;
landing and collection times - potato tubers can be planted in spring (early or mid-May) at an air temperature of at least + 15 ° C, he is not afraid of sudden changes in night and day temperatures, they begin to collect potatoes in mid-August and end at the end of September.

Advice! It is necessary to store the harvested crop of potatoes in cellars, basements or special warehouses at a temperature not lower than + 8-10 ° C and an air humidity of at least 60%.

The storage room should have a good hood or ventilation system, then the potatoes will not deteriorate (rot, dry out or sore) until the next harvest.
