Quail breeding as a business: is there a benefit

After trying to get quail and making sure that their breeding is not that difficult, some quail breeders begin to think about the quail farm as a business.

At first glance, the quail business is quite profitable. A hatching quail egg costs from 15 rubles apiece, food 2-5 rubles. for one egg. At the same time, the content of nutrients in a quail egg is several times higher than in a chicken egg, although the size is smaller, and there is no cholesterol at all.

Comment! In fact, the high content of nutrients and the absence of cholesterol in a quail egg is a myth, but otherwise the quail eggs will not be sold at all.

Quail carcasses are also not very cheap and reach 250 rubles. a piece. And they eat very little quail, as the advertisement says. Quails weighing about 250 g eat only 30 g of feed per day. True, laying hens, weighing one and a half kilograms, require 100 g of compound feed per day.

Quail places are small, they do not require walking, you can place them in an extension to the house on your site.

The popularity of quail products is growing. But few people think about why, with the growing popularity, the counters are still not overwhelmed with quail meat and eggs.

Why not overwhelmed, if it is so profitable and convenient?

You can try to calculate and draw up a preliminary business plan for quail breeding. A full-fledged one, of course, will not work, since prices in the regions differ.

Quail breeding as a business

The proposed business must be legal, because the products must be sold somewhere. And for the sale of food, you will need a veterinary certificate, at least.

What livestock can be kept without registering a poultry farm? 500 quails - is that a lot or a little? And 1000? We look at SNiP. It turns out that in order to register buildings as a quail farm (more precisely, a separate poultry house), the buildings must be at a distance of at least 100 meters from residential buildings. This distance is called a sanitary protection zone.

Quail breeding as a business

On the border of the territory, a green zone of tree plantations should be arranged. Prepare money to buy trees.

At any livestock farm, a manure collector should be built - a pit with a concreted perimeter with a closing lid. Depending on the amount of manure, the pit can be open on one side and have an inclined floor to be able to drive a truck into it and load the accumulated manure.

Quail breeding as a business

Such a volume of manure collector is unlikely to be needed by a private quail breeder. But poultry droppings are classified as organic waste of hazard class III, and the sanitary and epidemiological station, together with the veterinary service, will require a manure collector. Therefore, a private owner wishing to officially register a poultry house will have to either arrange a concrete pit or acquire a battery of plastic barrels for collecting manure.

Ideally, you can find a place to sell fresh droppings, show the official services a couple of barrels for droppings and get by with a little blood. But this is not possible everywhere.

The cost of a used 200-liter barrel is 900 rubles. The question is how quickly it will fill up.

If the quail eats 30-40 g of feed per day, then its feces will weigh at least 10 g per day. Multiply by the estimated 1000 quail population and get 10 kg of droppings per day. And this is only the main quail herd, excluding the rearing of young stock. We add here the reared young stock in the amount of 2000 quail, which must be reared to replace the egg-bearing flock every 6 months. Until the replacement of the main livestock, these 2000 quails will eat and shit for 2 months. For 2 months from young quails it turns out 20x30x2 = 1200 kg. If we distribute this amount over 6 months, we get + 20 kg monthly. In total, 10x30 + 20 = 320 kg of litter per month will turn out. One and a half barrels. This will of course be seasonal. 4 months for 300 kg and the next two for 900. So you will have to take at least 6 barrels. 6x900 = 5400 rubles. If you take another 6 for a change, then another 5400 rubles. with the condition of monthly export.

Perhaps someone has options for instant disposal, but you have to count on the worst.

The farm does not need to be registered. The slaughterhouse relies on her. This will raise the cost of buildings even more. So we consider the poultry house. By the way, the poultry house should also be at a considerable distance from residential buildings.

Has the desire to officially register this business already disappeared? Actually, right. If growing quail was as profitable as it is presented in most online articles, people with money would have built quail poultry farms long ago. But people with money know how to count this money.

Let's try to consider a semi-underground version of the quail business. In this case, you need to worry about what to do with the resulting products, although, by the way, after the culling and providing the family with quail meat, there will not be so many of these products left. Quail breeding as a business is relatively profitable in Ukraine, where you can negotiate the sale of products with small stalls or build your own clientele. No wonder, if you look closely, most of the quail breeders are from Ukraine. In Russia, with food enterprises, everything is much stricter, although, probably, you can also find those who want to buy an “eco-product straight from the village” who will not be afraid to take an untested egg and meat. And even in Ukraine, quail breeding is not an industrial, but a home business.

Breeding quails, whether business is profitable or not

This will be clarified below.

What to do with the litter, in principle, figured out. You will still have to attend to this issue if you do not want neighbors to start writing complaints. Therefore, either a compost pit in the garden, or barrels with subsequent removal.

1000 quails is the amount that one family can handle.

What you need to keep this thousand quails:

  1. Premises.
  2. Cages for the main herd and young stock.
  3. Feeders.
  4. Drinking bowls.
  5. Electrification of the premises.
  6. Incubator for 3000 quail eggs at a time.
  7. brooder for cultivation, they will quail for at least 2000 heads.
  8. Heating supply to the room where the quails are kept.

Feed and possible litter (you can do without it) are consumables and are not yet taken into account in the main calculation.

Premises

It is assumed that it exists, since the semi-underground business will be carried out at its own private house. Therefore, the cost of building a barn or an extension to the house can be ignored.

Cells

Craftsmen can do Quail cages on their own, but their cost will then depend on the cost of the materials used. Since the materials can be different, the exact price of such a cage cannot be named. You can only indicate that cages should be made at the rate of 70 quails per m².

For a rough estimate of the business plan, it is better to use the cost of ready-made quail cages.

With the planned main herd of 1000 quails, there should be 3000 seats in the annex to accommodate the young growth reared for replacement.

The cheapest option in terms of 50 quails is the KP-300-6ya cell battery. Price RUB 17,200 Accommodates 300 quails. 10 copies are required. The final amount is 172 thousand rubles. Quail cages are supplied fully equipped, feeders and drinkers are included in the price.

Room electrification

If the incubator and brooder are in a different room, then for the quails you just need to stretch the wire. This is not difficult and will only result in the cost of the wire and the bulb holder. If the room is planned to be heated, you need to consider another way to connect the heater.

Incubator for 3000 eggs at a time

Such an incubator for 1200 chicken eggs costs 86 thousand rubles. Very "smart", almost with artificial intelligence, which greatly facilitates the work of the poultry farmer. Darling, yes. But for now we are counting to the maximum.

Brooder

Should be designed for 2500 quails. You will need a lot of brooders, since their capacity is small. The cost of a brooder for 150 quails, the optimal ratio of quail quantity / price, is 13,700 rubles. You will need 17 such brooders. Total amount: 233 thousand rubles. It may be possible to get a discount for the wholesale.

Heating

This moment is inexpensive for the initial cost. With good thermal insulation of the walls, it is enough to bring the wire for the heater and buy the heater itself. The question is about the size of the room. A fan heater may be suitable for a small room. The price of such heaters is up to 1000 rubles.

Total: 173000 + 86000 + 233000 + 1000 = 492000 rubles. for the original equipment. You can safely round up the amount to half a million, since various little things will certainly be required.

Do not forget that this is the maximum.

How to reduce the cost

In general, all these fixed assets can be significantly cheaper if you know how to work with your hands. Quail cages and brooders are easy to make yourself. The only thing that will have to be spent is infrared lamps. With an incubator, it is a little more difficult due to the fact that it is difficult to manually set the desired temperature and humidity. And turning the eggs by hand 6 times a day is even more difficult. In this case, it is likely that all embryos will die. So it's better not to skimp on an incubator and get a really good one.

One infrared lamp for a brooder together with a ceramic holder will cost up to 300 rubles. How many brooders are needed depends on the size of the brooders and the room temperature. 20 lamps will cost 6 thousand rubles.

Thus, about 150 thousand rubles will have to be spent on acquiring equipment. taking into account small things, materials and unforeseen expenses.

Purchase of livestock and feed

A hatching quail egg costs from 15 to 20 rubles apiece. Eggs will need about 3 thousand. 20 rubles is an egg of a broiler quail breed, 15 - an egg. An Estonian quail egg (a medium-sized bird with a good egg production) costs 20 rubles. White Texas egg as much.

Option 1... For incubation, you need to take 3000 eggs. 20x3000 = 60,000 rubles.

Let's add electricity here.

Option 2... Daily chickens 40 rubles. You need 2,000 heads 40x2000 = 80,000 rubles.

No electricity is needed for incubation.

In both cases, starting compound feed is required for growing. A 40 kg bag costs 1400 rubles. Up to a month you need to feed this type of food. At first, 30 g per bird will not go away, but by a month they will already reach the daily rate, therefore, on average, the need for feed can be calculated as 1.5 bags per day. 1.5x1400x30 = 63,000 rubles. for feeding young animals. Some quails will scatter, something will be fed within a couple of days after a month.

The cost of young quail by the month will be:

  1. 60,000 + 63,000 = 123,000 + electricity costs for incubation and brooder.
  2. 80,000 + 63,000 = 143,000 + electricity costs in the brooder.

Then another month for quail feed 1300 rubles. for 40 kg.

Consumption of 1.5 bags per day.

1.5x1300x30 = 58500 rubles.

Let's add on two options:

123,000 + 58,500 = 181,500 rubles.

143,000 + 58,500 = 201,500 rubles.

In both cases, do not forget about the energy consumption for the incubator and brooder. During this month, only the cost of semi-twilight lighting in the sparrowhawk will be added, since monthly quails no longer need a brooder and can live in cages.

At 2 months, you can slaughter extra quails and sell carcasses for an average of 200 rubles. (If there is a distribution channel.)

1000x200 = 200,000. That is, the costs of the main herd of quails and feed for it will be almost reimbursed.

But we must not forget that now an ideal situation is being modeled when no one died and the planned number of young animals hatched from the eggs, and not less.

The third option for acquiring livestock

Young growth at the age of 50 days. The price for one quail is 150 rubles. At this age, it is already clear where the male is, where the female is, if the quail is of a "wild" color. "Colored" quails will have to look under the tail. But you can no longer recruit unnecessary quails and limit yourself only to the main herd.

1000x150 = 150,000 rubles.

Important! You need to be confident in the seller, since at the age of 50 days, young quails no longer differ from the old ones and they can sell you overcooking under the guise of young animals.

After 10 days and 7.5 bags of feed, 1,300 rubles each, that is, another 10,000 rubles, the quails will begin to lay eggs. And it will be possible to receive income.

On average, quails lay 200 eggs per year, that is, each quail lays an egg every two days. If it's rude. In addition, due to any stress, quails may stop rushing for 2 weeks. But let's say everything is perfect.

We took the herd with the expectation that we would receive replacement young animals on our own. That is, for every 4 quails in the herd, there is 1 quail. Consequently, there are 800 quails in a herd and 400 eggs can be obtained from them per day. Food eggs will most likely have to be handed over for 2 rubles.

400x2 = 800 rubles. in a day.

Feed for the same day will be eaten 30 kg.

1300 / 40x30 = 975 rubles.

Income: 800 rubles.

Consumption: 975 rubles.

Total: -175 rubles.

But you will also have to lay a percentage on the depreciation of fixed assets, that is, at least cells, an incubator and a brooder.

Conclusion: the production of edible eggs with a full reproduction cycle is not profitable.

Edible egg production when buying an outside herd

In this case, from the main funds, only cells and a lamp are needed to illuminate the room. No incubator or brooder required.

It will be necessary to buy only quails in the herd, since rush they are without cockerels, and we will not breed them.

The cost of a quail herd at the age of 50 days will be the same: 150,000 rubles, feed consumption for up to two months will result in 10,000 rubles.

Without cockerels, eggs from quails can be received 500 pieces. in a day.

Income: 500x2 = 1000 rubles.

Consumption: 975 rubles.

Total: +25 rubles.

At first glance, though small, but a plus, you can even go to zero. But here we need to remember about electricity and water bills.

In the best case, the result will be a real zero. Considering that again nothing can be put aside for the depreciation of cages and the purchase of a new livestock will be quail, the scheme is a failure.

Conclusion: the production of edible eggs is not profitable.

Quail for meat

In this case, it is necessary to take broiler quail breeds. Whether it makes sense to keep a broodstock is a difficult question. Best Broiler Breed - Texas Whites. But the quails of this breed are too apathetic and for high-quality fertilization of eggs, only 2 quails should fall on one quail. Thus, a broodstock of 1000 heads will consist of approximately 670 quails and 330 quails.

Broiler quails eat 40 g of feed per day, therefore, 1 bag of feed for quails will be consumed per day at a price of 1300 rubles.

The number of eggs obtained from quails is unlikely to exceed 300 pieces per day. Broiler quail breeds do not differ in egg production. For the most favorable period of 5 days for obtaining the maximum number of hatching quail, you can collect 1500 eggs.

The incubator, accordingly, will also need a smaller one.

Such an incubator costs 48,000 rubles. and will include more than 2000 quail eggs. Quite enough.

Incubators can be found cheaper, but you should not make the mistake of novice quail breeders purchasing incubators that do not allow you to control the incubation process without opening the lid.

However, you need to estimate the cost of growing broiler quails and the amount that can be obtained after the sale of carcasses. You may not need an incubator at all.

From one and a half thousand eggs laid in an incubator, about 1000 marketable quail carcasses will eventually turn out.

For the first month, the quails will receive starter feed for 1400 rubles. per bag. Broilers will eat a lot. Accordingly, 30 bags per month will cost 30x1400 = 42,000 rubles.

Further, up to 6 weeks of age, quails should be fed and fed with broiler feed. A 40-kilogram bag of such food costs 1250 rubles.

1250 rubles x 14 days = 17 500 rubles.

Total feed costs will amount to 42,000 + 17,500 = 59,500 rubles.

The carcass of a broiler quail costs 250 rubles.

After the slaughter of quails, the proceeds will be 250,000 rubles.

250 000 – 59 500 = RUB 190,500

This should include water and electricity costs, but not so bad.

True, the broodstock of quails also consumed their feed worth 1,300 rubles all these months and a half. per day and ate 1300x45 = 58,500 rubles.

190,500 - 58,500 = 132,000 rubles.

Worse, but not all that bad. In addition, the quails were flying all the time while the first batch of eggs was incubated.

But it is also necessary to return the cost of purchasing and raising broodstock quails. You will have to take 1,500 one-day quails.

1,500 quail x 40 rubles. = RUB 60,000

This means, per day, 1.5 bags of starter feed, 1400 each for 30 days; 1.5 bags per day of 1300 quail food for the next 15 days and 1 bag per day of quail food for the next 15 days until the first eggs.

1.5 x 1400 x 30 + 1.5 x 1300 x 15+ 1 x 1300 x 15 =RUB 111,750

In total, 172,000 rubles will have to be spent before the first laying of eggs in the incubator. (rounded off).

Income from slaughtered extra 500 quails: 500x250 = 125,000 rubles.

172,000 - 125,000 = 47,000 rubles.

Another 47 thousand rubles will have to be deducted from the first batch of home-grown quails sold.

132 000 – 47 000 = RUB 85,000

The next batch of quail carcasses will have to bring 132,000 rubles. arrived.

Incubation lasts 18 days, eggs not older than 5 days are laid for incubation. This means there are 13 days to collect the edible egg.

Broiler quails lay large eggs and you can try to sell these eggs for 3 rubles apiece.

13х300х3 = 11,700 rubles. If you sell for 2 rubles, then 7800.

These amounts can simply be written off as overheads, they are not significant.

The “quail cycle on the farm” will repeat every 18 days, but additional cages with 3000 seats for young quails should be enough.

The cost of equipment when targeting broiler quails will also change. More cages will be needed, for 4000 heads (1000 broodstock and 3000 young animals), and there are fewer brooders, since quails will be delivered there in batches periodically. The incubator will also need a smaller one.

Cages: 14 blocks for 300 heads, 17,200 rubles each. per block.

14x17200 = 240 800 rubles.

Brooders: 10 for 150 heads of 13,700 rubles.

10х13700 = 137,000 rubles.

Incubator: 48,000 rubles.

Freezer for carcasses, volume 250 l: 16 600

Total: 240 800 + 137 000 + 48 000 + 16 600 = RUB 442,400

To this should be added lamps for brooders and the cost of mandatory heaters, which may need several or one powerful. Broilers are demanding in terms of temperature, humidity and feed.

At temperatures below 20 degrees, they will stop growing. At temperatures above 35, they will begin to die from overheating.

On a note! When buying equipment, it is better to count on the amount of half a million. If something remains, then good. It is also worth remembering the possibility of self-manufacturing of a piece of equipment.

Conclusion: in a rough approximation, breeding quails for meat pays off and brings a fairly high income. But this will only happen if you manage to establish a distribution channel at such a price. It is very possible that the price per carcass will be lower.

Feeding broiler quails for meat

You can try to save money on the incubator and cages by buying ready-made daily quail. In this case, brooders will also need less.

Brooders - 7: 7 x 13,700 = 95,900 (96,000) rubles.

Cells - 4 blocks: 4 x 17,200 = 68,800 (69,000) rubles.

Freezer: 16 600 (17 000) rubles.

Total amount: 96,000 + 69,000 + 17,000 = 182,000 rubles.

Costs for 1000 broilers will quail at 50 rubles. per head: 50,000 rubles.

Feed up to 6 weeks: 59,500 rubles.

Sale of 1000 carcasses: 250,000 rubles.

250,000 - 50,000 - 59,500 = 140,500 rubles.

There is no additional income from eggs, so water and energy costs must be deducted from this amount.

As a result, the profit will be approximately the same as with the first method. That is, about 130 thousand rubles. for a month and a half of fattening.

But the cost of equipment in this case is much lower and it is easier to recover them. In addition, it is difficult for one person to cope with 4 thousand quails, which will inevitably live permanently in cages if the reproduction cycle of the quail is not interrupted.

Conclusion: a fairly profitable and relatively low-cost type of business, but the income is also lower than that of the first option.

Attention! When calculating equipment costs, don't forget about litter barrels. Although they are inexpensive compared to the rest of the equipment, they are important to provide peace of mind when breeding quail.

Simply put, so that the neighbors do not complain about the stench to different authorities.

Summing up: how profitable is the quail business

The answer to the question whether it is profitable or not to breed quail as a business is more likely no than yes.

After the calculations, it becomes clear why a serious business does not seek to occupy this niche. One way or another, they work in the legal field and pay taxes, even if they hide part of their income.

Even when selling eggs at a maximum price of 5 rubles. per piece, which is unrealistic for a producer supplying an egg to a chain of stores, at best, the income from the "egg" business will be only 45 thousand rubles. This is just a good salary for an employee in hazardous work. But from this money it will be necessary to deduct taxes and certain amounts to the depreciation fund for fixed assets of production, which in the case of a large entrepreneur are farm buildings, cages, incubators, brooders. In the end, there will be nothing left.

A private trader working underground will either have to hand over the egg at the lowest price, or sell it from hand to hand, so as not to spend money on intermediaries. To do this, you will either have to trade illegally on the streets, or have your own limited circle of buyers. Both are very difficult to accomplish, despite the widely spread myths about the benefits of a quail egg.

In addition, if we turn to the consumption of feed for laying hens and quails, then one and a half kilograms of chicken eat almost two times less feed (100 g per day) than one and a half kilograms (6 heads) quails (6x30 = 180 g), and egg masses are given out in the same way: 60 g each. At the same time, modern crosses rush almost every day and are quite resistant to stress, unlike quails, and the minimum price for a chicken egg is 3.5 rubles.

Space for one chicken is also required less than 6 quails.

Thus, the egg business is unprofitable even for private individuals.

Broiler quails for meat could be profitable if there was no need to pay taxes and build a slaughterhouse. And also, if the population could afford to pay 250 rubles. for a carcass weighing 250 -300 g. That is, about 1 thousand rubles. per kilogram, while the price of chicken meat is up to 100 rubles. per kilogram.

Conclusion: with all the favorable calculations made, frankly, in a very rough estimate and without seriously trying to conduct marketing research, we can say that it will hardly be profitable to breed quails even for meat.

Those quail breeders who are not trying to make a business selling hatching eggs (such a product costs 3-4 times more than the highest price for edible eggs) and breeding birds, also frankly state the fact that quails can only be kept to provide their family with high-quality meat. and eggs.

The only way to slowly promote this business is to start quails, first of all for yourself, and sell the products to interested friends - acquaintances.

Or, if there are enterprising comrades in the village who trade in the city at a place lured by them with regular customers a couple of times a week, you can try to hand over the products to them for sale.

The video perfectly tells what needs to be found out and done for a legal quail breeding business. The conclusions are also disappointing.

Important! The video supports the myth that quails do not get sick with chicken diseases.

They suffer from all of the same diseases, including leptospirosis. Quails simply do not come into contact with the external environment and their chances of getting infected are much less.

But business on quails will not bring golden mountains in any case.

Comments (1)
  1. Correct article, oh correct.Quails are NOT PROFITABLE, in no case do not breed them)))))) Nafig, we need extra competitors (for those who did not understand this is fierce sarcasm).
But seriously, poultry farming and quail farming in particular is quite a business. the truth is, not everything is as rosy as advertisements usually paint, but here you already need to turn on your head and think clearly. It brings money, not mountains of gold, but it brings.
The quail is such a small bird that it is possible not to crawl out of the private household plots (so far, in any case, the law does not standardize the number of birds in the courtyard, either in pieces or in assortment), therefore, with reasonable approaches, without creating problems for neighbors and other people, it is quite possible to keep 1000 heads in the courtyard , Taking into account the average recommended landing of 50 - 70 heads per square of the grid, provided that the cages are several floors on average 3-4 (where the room allows it and five or six the height of the row is not great). If you are not greedy, then in fact we get 200-300 heads per square of floor, Thus, 1000 heads will take 5 squares of floor Adequate cells of a full cycle with a brooder, a layer of young stock, two egg and fattening cells with a total volume (excluding a brooder for 200 heads) planting 200 heads made of stainless steel with a full set of drinking bowls, feeders of not the worst design cost 28 thousand Russian rubles (excluding shipping costs, of course). Thus, for a livestock of 1000 heads, 5 complete cages are needed, i.e. retail we get this happiness from 140 thousand (and this is already with 5 brooders, in fact, for 1000 heads with heating lighting and other necessary equipment and regulators), and if you turn to the manufacturer, then for 100 thousand (a trifle but nice 🙂)
Now further - the incubation egg. There are some complications here, but not financial ones. Finding a high-quality egg from an adequate farm with a healthy livestock and regular renewal of the parent flock, and even in the amount of eggs from 1000 pieces, is another problem. Now we consider that the typical output of quails 85% is considered normal 75%. for 1000 hatches, you need to add at least 250 for the flaws of the incubation of the fertilization and hatching. By the way, normal suppliers compensate infertility in advance or after providing data on infertility.
Again, the cost of hatching eggs in normal farms is from 10 to 40 rubles. BUT! (the author modestly kept silent about this again) - this is the RETAIL price i.e. for those who take a dozen others for themselves. If you take a THOUSAND of pieces and the more you get a discount, and the more eggs, the more significant the discount. Below ten per egg, most likely, you will not be able to fall, but still. Here are the prices for the last delivery spring 18 Quail egg inc czech republic (I will not write the manufacturer so as not to be considered advertising) guaranteed fertilization of 85% (laid on a long journey and the loss of the incubation properties of the egg because of this), when buying 2000 pieces, the price, taking into account delivery to the Urals, turned out to be 40 rubles a piece. BUT! Half of this price is TRANSPORTATION COSTS, what can our greedy carriers do (((((
Delivery St. Petersburg at a retail value of 35 rubles / piece, when ordering from 250 pieces, the price starts to fall cheerfully, when ordering 1000 pieces, the price is 20 rubles / piece, taking into account delivery to the Urals.
The same prices are obtained for delivery from the Moscow region. In all three cases, the order was of the same Texas breed.
A local egg producer offers an egg with guaranteed fertilization and compensation for no fertilization at all for 10 rubles / piece, taking into account delivery, it turns out to be 12 rubles / piece - the pharaohs.
Further feed, I will not recount the numbers from the article, honestly laziness (who wants to can resist himself). stern. The author again modestly wrote RETAIL prices for compound feed.
With the volume of purchases per 1000 head of a farm, almost all suppliers give discounts
Here is a simple example at retail, a starter from a very well-known international company costs 60 rubles / kg, when purchasing for 1000 head of output, the cost under the agreement becomes already 40 rubles / kg. The same story is with the fattening combine. and other manufacturers are similar. So yes, for the worst scenario, we consider retail, but then you can (if you know how to communicate with people) agree on regular deliveries at completely different prices, especially now there is a crisis - the manufacturer began to think with his head (they themselves admitted).
Further on the implementation. If you officially need to register private household plots - get a piece of paper from the administration of the settlement and from the veterinary service - this is if you will hand over the products at retail. If you sell on the market, then only a vet conclusion about veterinary well-being in a given settlement (area) and the conclusion of the veterinary service of the market (but they will tell you what and how much). a certificate of veterinary well-being costs 100 rubles per piece. If we supply a food service, then a certificate f #, our veterinary service writes it for 150 rubles a batch.
Welfare every three months, numbered for each batch.
In addition, personally, on our own initiative, at our own expense, we hand over our products to the laboratory for the purpose of identifying infections dangerous to humans - but this is personal paranoia and it is not necessary to do this. Analysis for coli and salmanellosis costs 150 rubles / research Although initially they asked for 600, again, a discount for wholesale and systematicity. At a time, we are now known in the local dignity service and are more loyal to our vet certificates, which are found during checks in the same catering and retail. A trifle is nice. ))))
Well, the sale through "word of mouth" does not require any docks at all, although for your comfort you can do research on your own at your own expense, But here everyone decides for himself.
About the fact that "people with money" do not invest in the construction of quail farms and neither eggs nor meat can be found in the store. So this is the author, again, FAT STORY! Go to any networker and be surprised there IS a quail egg and a quail carcass is often found. Another thing is that this product is not in demand in every locality. YES, and in light of the total impoverishment of the people, people began to strongly cuddle up on food costs, so demand is not falling without it.
But then who works with the buyer and what offers. Nobody promised an easy life)))))
Cons and risks, as in any poultry industry:
while you gain experience, you will have both bad hatching and suffocation and other joys of incubation and the departure of young animals and the death of livestock from sometimes little predictable reasons (for example, the manufacturer of the combo in order to reduce the cost of chemistry and the combo took and deteriorated, sometimes it is seasonal). Those. yes there is a risk of flying into a large sum of money. There is also a subjective feature in one person that quails live and live and geese do not take root, while in another person, on the contrary, or in general, the bird does not want to live (believe it or not).
But IMHO you need to start with a relatively small livestock, say, heads of 100 - 200, to work on them all the technologies that will be used in your large farm. Understand the demand for products in your specific area, and then gradually increase the livestock to the calculated level.
Well, yes, the key to success is, first of all, in a healthy strong parent flock and using your own head, everything else will follow and eventually work out.
Well, do not be greedy - there will be no golden mountains without the cost of your own labor, if you do not like to work with your hands, your head, Analyze, predict, then most likely this is not your path.
    Good luck.

    1. An absolutely reasoned and correct answer.
Even a small farm (1500 heads) will give a minimum income of about $ 600. a month, there would be a desire ...
