Tomato Pink Bush: characteristics and description of the variety

Many gardeners prefer pink-fruited tomato varieties. They are attractive and have a special mild flavor. The appearance of Pink Bush hybrid seeds on the market was a sensation among vegetable growers. Low tomato bushes are covered with pink fruits. The hybrid was developed by the Japanese company Sakata. In Russia, the Pink Bush tomato was registered in 2003.

Features of tomato

The characteristics and description of the mid-early variety indicate that pink fruits adorn the Pink Bush hybrid bush 90-100 days after germination. The fruits are distinguished by enviable uniformity and amicable early ripening. They are not afraid of thermal burns, because tomatoes are sheltered from the rays of the hot sun by thick foliage. The tomato is grown outdoors in regions with a mild climate. In harsh weather conditions, the hybrid is recommended for growing in greenhouses.

Pink Bush tomato bushes are resistant to moisture changes. The yield of the hybrid reaches 10-12 kg per 1 sq. m with careful agricultural technology. One bush gives 2 kg of beautiful fruits that do not crack. Tomatoes are eaten fresh and prepared. Due to their density, the fruits are used for drying.

Important! Plants do without tying. But if gardeners do not mulch the beds, it is better to tie up the brushes.

Benefits of pink-fruited tomatoes

  • All tomatoes contribute to the normalization of the work of blood vessels;
  • Due to its properties, which are manifested both when fresh products are consumed, and those that have undergone heat treatment, tomatoes are considered an effective prevention of cancer;

Attention! Heat-loving tomatoes can change their soft, sweet taste under the influence of air temperature and light levels to a harsher and bland.

Why a hybrid is attractive

The Pink Bush tomato variety is suitable for growing in most regions of Russia in shelters. Taking care of your plants is rewarded with an amazing harvest. The fruits of the hybrid have time to ripen quickly. This tomato allows you to feast on early vegetables and, thanks to a short development cycle, avoids common nightshade diseases.The advantages of a hybrid are obvious.

  • Excellent taste and high yield;
  • Tomato fruits do not crack, tolerate transportation well and retain their presentation for a long time;
  • The fruits are evenly colored, since in the phase of full ripeness there is no green spot around the stalk;
  • Suitable for dietetic food;
  • Tomato plants are resistant to fusarium, tobacco mosaic viruses and verticilliosis;
  • The unpretentiousness of the Pink Bush tomato bush allows it not to form, and also not to remove leaves and stepsons.

It should be noted that tomato seedlings require increased attention. Since the Pink Bush tomato is a hybrid, the seeds must be purchased new every year. Their cost is high, but pre-sowing treatment is not needed.

Growing a hybrid

The seeds of the Pink Bush tomato variety are sown in March. The branded seed packages indicate that the hybrid plants are planted in a permanent place at the age of 35-45 days. Taking into account the recommended terms and focusing on the weather conditions of the region, each vegetable grower determines the time of sowing the seeds.

Ready-made soil is offered for tomato seedlings. Many growers prefer to prepare the soil themselves since the fall. Humus, sand or peat are added to the soil. Wood ash is mixed in as fertilizer.

Sowing

The soil at room temperature is placed in a seedling container and the tomatoes are sown.

  • Hybrid seeds are spread with tweezers on moistened, slightly compacted soil, which do not need to be soaked in growth stimulants or disinfected;
  • Top tomato grains are sprinkled with a thin layer of the same substrate or peat - 0.5-1.0 cm;
  • Pour through a fine-mesh nozzle of a watering can, cover with glass or film;
  • The container is kept warm at a temperature of 25 0FROM;
  • Every day, the film is slightly opened for airing and careful watering if the soil is dry.

Seedling care

With the appearance of tomato sprouts, the container is placed on a windowsill or other bright place. Now the temperature regime is changing in order for the tomato seedlings to get stronger and harden.

  • For the first week, tomato sprouts should be relatively cool, no more than 16 degrees. At night, the temperature is even lower - up to 12 degrees;
  • In this case, the plants must be illuminated for at least 10 hours;
  • The strengthened seven-day seedlings are provided with warmth, up to 22 degrees. This temperature must be maintained throughout the next month;
  • If tomato plants have two true leaves, they dive. Tomatoes are immediately seated in separate cups;
  • Water the seedlings with warm, settled water as the soil dries up;
  • They are fed with ready-made complex fertilizers for tomato seedlings;
  • Monthly seedlings begin to harden, first taking out for 1-2 hours in fresh air in the shade. Gradually, the residence time of tomato seedlings in the air or in the greenhouse is increased.

Advice! After diving and transplanting into separate containers, Pink Bush tomato plants cannot be placed close to each other. This provokes upward growth, and the stem of this tomato should be low and strong.

Tomatoes in the garden

Tomato plants should be planted when they have 6-9 leaves, there are no flowers yet, but 1-2 future fruit clusters have formed. Overexposed tomato bushes, flowering or with ovaries, will not give a large harvest.

  • 4-6 tomato bushes are placed on one square meter;
  • 1-2 liters of water are poured into the holes, the amount of liquid depends on the moisture content of the soil. Pour wood ash, a tablespoon of ammonium nitrate or other diluted fertilizers;
  • The first week is often watered so that the tomato plants take root faster. In the future - as the soil dries up, the amount of precipitation. Watering under the root of the plant or drip;
  • In areas with a short warm season, the shoots are plucked in the leaf axils. All the vitality of the plant is given for the ripening of the fruit;
  • Tomatoes are fed 3-4 times with complex mineral fertilizers so that they fully show their excellent yielding properties.

The first fruits of tomatoes begin to ripen by the end of 3 months. After two weeks, all the fruits are ripe and ready for sale.

Comment! A good natural fertilizer for tomatoes will be feeding from infusion weeds or meadow grass. It can be mixed with a solution of mullein in water: 1 part of organic matter is diluted in 10 parts of water.

Greenhouse secrets

The humidity level is monitored in the greenhouse. Ventilate to eliminate the threat of fungal diseases or pests of tomatoes.

  • Maintains soil moisture by mulching. Sawdust, hay, straw, agrofibre are used for mulch. For this hybrid, soil mulching is necessary, otherwise the bunches of fruits will lie on the soil;
  • Plants of the Pink Bush tomato variety in the greenhouse are tied up so that the stem does not break.

Japanese tomatoes are a very good choice. Delicious and beautiful fruits will be a real decoration of the table.

Pink Bush occupies several rows in our garden. We grow seedlings ourselves. Caring as usual. You just need more space for the plants. We arrange two rows in cups. Plants are then freer.
Anton, 31 years old, Belgorod region

    1. Good afternoon, dear Svetlana!
      There are several reasons for low germination and uneven germination of seeds:
      1. Low quality seeds.
      2. Shelf life of seeds. Every year, the germination of tomato seeds decreases by 20-30%. Most often, when buying seeds, buyers pay little attention to the expiration date. But in vain.
      3. Even if the manufacturer has established itself only on the positive side, the storage conditions of the seed, which are not observed by all sellers, are of great importance.
      4. Banal non-observance of the rules of preparation and sowing of seeds.
      If you did everything correctly during the planting process, then, unfortunately, you came across low-quality seeds. In this case, we advise you to choose a company that provides buyers with high quality seed.
      We wish you high yields!
